Over 160 fleet representatives are expected to attend the 72nd Electric Utility Fleet Managers Conference, scheduled for June 1-4 at the Williamsburg Lodge and Conference Center in Williamsburg, Virginia.

This year’s event features a new site for the equipment show and drive-through demonstration, allowing both to take place in the same location. The equipment show will include more than 60 displays.

Also on the docket is the EUFMC General Session educational program, “Driving Safety, Sustainability & Technical Expertise.” Consolidated Edison Company of New York’s Natalia Saldarriaga – who currently serves as vice president, facilities and field services, shared services – will kick off the session with her keynote address discussing the utility’s transportation and building electrification plan. Eric Kapitulik, founder of The Program, will deliver a safety leadership presentation about how to create great teams; the presentation builds on his focus during last year’s EUFMC. Other General Session topics are expected to include:

  • Electric vehicle charging advancements
  • Quality assurance programs for fleets
  • Senior leadership alignment
  • Advanced fuel sourcing and purchasing
  • Procurement strategies for EPA 2027
  • Artificial intelligence in fleet management
  • Rental strategies in difficult financial times

Mallory Weggemann, a four-time Paralympian swimmer for Team USA and holder of multiple American and world records, will serve as this year’s EUFMC dinner speaker. In her presentation – “Grit, Resilience and Triumph Over Any Obstacle” – Weggemann will share her personal journey following her paralysis at age 18, emphasizing themes of resilience, the power of a positive mindset and the importance of embracing one’s uniqueness.

Back for its third year at EUFMC is the Women in Utility Fleet luncheon, a networking opportunity for female fleet professionals that’s been expanded to include representatives from manufacturers and suppliers. According to Lissa Brady, EUFMC director, San Diego Gas & Electric, “In 2025, we plan to build on last year’s discussions about issues of common interest for the industry’s growing number of women professionals. We look forward to welcoming women who work for manufacturers and suppliers to this unique forum.”
